An international curator and art advisor based in Amsterdam, Maria Rus Bojan established in 2008 MB Art Agency, a platform connecting artists, museums, art institutions and art collectors through various professional services.

Between 1994-1999, Maria Rus Bojan has been a curator at the Art Museum of Cluj and between 1999-2003, general director of the Sindan Cultural Foundation Bucharest/Cluj. She is known for debuting internationally an entire generation of Romanian artists among which Victor Man, Adrian Ghenie, Ciprian Mureșan at the beginning of the years 2000, within the Sindan contemporary art program and the series of international exhibitions entitled generically Re:Location & Shake ( 2002, Re:Location 2, OK Centrum, Linz); 2003, Re:Location 4, Casino Luxembourg and Tranzit Foundation, Cluj; 2004 Shake the Limits, MNAC, Bucharest).

She curated and produced several international exhibitions such as Ulay’s major retrospective, GEN.E.T.RATION ULTIMA RATIO (2005, Centro Parraga Murcia, Spain); the symposia and exhibitions program Art in the New Field of Visibility (2008, De Appel, NIMK, De Brakke Grond, Amsterdam) and Ready Media (2008, NIMK Amsterdam, The Contemporary Art Museum, Belgrade); Locked-In (2008, Casino de Luxembourg); Strategies for Concealing (2008, C-Space Beijing); Tales of the Unexpected (2010, in the framework of Art Rotterdam) and ULAY – a Retrospective, (2013, Salon Dahlmann, Berlin ). In 2011, she co-curated Performing History, the Romanian Pavilion for the 54th edition of the International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia.

Since 2004, Maria Rus Bojan is working as an independent curator and professional art adviser in Amsterdam, having counseled significant private collectors, art institutions and corporate collections in decisions concerning archiving, researching, and exhibiting their collections, as well as designing specific programs for major contemporary art events. She has lectured extensively and kept several presentation on issues related to contemporary art from Eastern Europe, being also a regular contributor of the monthly magazine Sinteza.

Since 1995, Maria Rus Bojan is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) and since 2005, an international member of AICA Nederland. In 2013 she joined the Russia and Eastern Europe Acquisition Committee (REEAC) at Tate Modern.
